Description
This is the back trail view of the Old Mill in North Little Rock. It is one of my favorite places to visit in Arkansas. This is in the T.R. Pugh Memorial Park. It is an authentic reproduction of an old grist mill that was often seen in Arkansas. It was a gift to the people of Park Hill and Lakewood subdivision from the developer Justin Matthews. His architect Frank Carmean drew the plans for the mill that was dedicated in 1933. Mexican sculptor Dionico Rodriguez created the faux bois (fake wood) concrete sculptures and bridges. I take my art students to have lunch at this beautiful setting each year after our trip to the Arkansas Arts Center.
