Artist's Description

This is a replica of a typical Arkansas Homestead in the late 1800's . This is called a shotgun house beacuse of the open porch between the two rooms. This would let the summer breeze cool the covered porch. One room was the Kitchen living area the other was the bedroom. This kept the bedroom from getting hot from cooking with a wood stove or fireplace.
